Tom Hardy gives an oscar-worthy performance in Legend. He is phenomenal. Aside from his acting, the film falls flat in a number of ways. It's rather uneventful, aka boring at times. The film isn't a very complete-feeling biopic, and is too long despite only covering a single-digit portion of the Kray's notorious escapades.
