Simple but enjoyable. Don't look to it for jaw-dropping acting, but that doesn't take away from the fun of the movie. A pre-crazy Tom Cruise is a great, young, innocent hero. If you want to get philosophical there's some interesting points to consider, but they don't overwhelm you.
