Review of Legend (1985) by Nathan G — 27 Sep 2009

This is one of the old standby movies of my childhood, still dear to me, still magical and enchanting.

I'll write more later, but for now I feel I should mention that the Director's Cut is very different from the original US theatrical version -- I liked the new scenes and all, but I REALLY missed the Tangerine Dream music, it's a big part of what I associate the film with. Goldsmith's soundtrack is fine, but there were so many scenes that I found myself waiting for the song that should accompany it, but it never came, and just felt empty, like there was a vital piece missing... especially at the end, when I was waiting for "Loved By The Sun", and it was just this unrelated and underwhelming instrumental piece....
