Without a doubt it has got amazing special effects, atmospheres, costumes and so on and a young "Prince Charming-Mowgli" Tom Cruise as the main character. Unfortunately the characters are a bit shallow and have no background and so is the story.
The origianl version though, was longer and so I believe, better as well.
