Review of Legend (1985) by Dann M — 27 Apr 2013
Legend is a classic '80s fantasy tale from director Ridley Scott. When Darkness plots to extinguish light from the universe by killing the last unicorn, a group of pure souls forge a quest to save her and restore the power of light.
The film has a strong cast that includes Tom Cruise, Mia Sara, and Tim Curry. While Sara gives an impressive performance, it's Curry's brilliant performance as Darkness that steals the film. Additionally, the sets and costumes are wonderfully imaginative.
Visually, it's an astonishing film that's incredibly artistic and stylized. Additionally, the film style is enhanced by the surreal and enchanting score of Tangerine Dream. Legend is a magical tale that's exceptionally creative and compelling.
