Review of Legend (1985) by Jason M — 07 Apr 2009
I am reviewing the director's cut which is the true version.
Ridley Scott has created in my opinion one of the best looking fantasy films ever (No CGI folks). The whole world is magical. The story is very basic a fantasy more a homage to the Grimms tales but I was still in awe of where it would go.
The acting is very well done it's in a style of the 80's fairy tales of that time but the scene stealer is Tim Curry as Darkness who is both opeartic and evil and also fun.
Also Goldsmith's score is amazing and I have nothing against the other score in the US version but Goldsmith's is more timeless classic feel and the other is an 80s version.
Overall very good if we had the chance to have seen the original 150min version it might have become a classic.
