Review of Left Behind (2014) by Lester F — 10 Oct 2014
The movie is not bad, if you manage your expectations going in. The movie takes too long to set everything up, but I prefer the way they did it over most apocalypse movies where there isn't enough characterization to make you care for the characters.
I like how the movie didn't try to constantly shove Christianity down the viewer's throat, but was still consistent with the values associated with it. I always like Nic Cage's performances, and the rest of the cast was pretty good as well.
I thought the dialogue was well written, not too clever but definitely seems like what people would say in real life. The movie was actually pretty funny at certain parts, sometimes intentional sometimes not.
The movie was pretty much just morals stuck into a mediocre at best apocalypse movie, I cared for the characters a little bit but the movie would have been better had it done more to make me care for the characters.
