Review of Left Behind (2014) by Segun B — 26 Jan 2015
So just saw Left Behind, and I have to say based on reviews and having not seen the original movie I was pleasantly surprised. This is certainly not blockbuster cinematic event, it felt more like a TV movie, however what it did do it did well even if at times character interactions were laboured. The story was necessarily limited in scope as it only covers one man's life however as a bigger picture person the plot did leave one wondering about the level of carnage, confusion, despair and fear the world would witness in the hours shortly following the rapture.
I'm certain a bigger budget, a macro-scale storyline, and better writing could have made the movie more captivating than it actually was. And it was interesting with moments of funny character interactions particularly those on the flight. However, as a non-politically correct movie in today's society, as a movie it is what it is.
