Review of Left Behind (2014) by Jake G — 25 Jun 2016
Oh, GOD. Nicolas Cage finally has a movie back in the theater, Finally, and, just, WHY? Why does this have to be the one that gets a theatrical release, he's had some very good to decent movies that were straight to DVD but yet this gets a theatrical release.
I will admit that I am one of the few Nicolas Cage fans left, and yes, I still like him very much, but GOD, this was, NOT GOOD. Cage himself, is good, but not great like he normally is, I know pilots are trained to remain calm when there is a problem with their plane, but now imagine Nicolas Cage being his way, and not his psychotic way, his I don't care, monotone, mumbling way, now how would you feel if you were a passenger on that plane, Exactly.
The acting is not that spectacular, with the possible exceptions of Chad Michael Murray and Nicky Whelan, who were O.K. at best, while everyone else was just, blah. Lea Thompson was pretty much non existent and pointless, as were most of the characters on the plane.
I usually would not have even gone to see a movie like this but the Cage factor always wins it for me, I should have known better but what could I do because who knows when he will make his return to the big screen.
NOT RECOMMENDED actually, as the title suggests, make this LEFT BEHIND as you walk into another theater and see a better movie.
