Review of Left Behind (2014) by Scubasteve Walter M — 25 Oct 2014
I'm posting this review because the ratings here are totally unjustified. I went to watch this movie yesterday with my parents and 4 others. It was a satisfying experience. The movie is not an action pack thriller and the story line does not have a twist like what I normally ask for.
You will be disappointed if you went for that, I believe that is what the critics only care about. Instead, this movie makes you think, it is more about the characters grappling with life after the disappearance and whether you can relate to them.
The conversations are real and welcomed except for the first cheesy line about earthquakes. There were quite a few unexpected funny scenes too. I think the director can do a better job but all in all its ok.
The only criticism I would have in this movie is the portrayal of christians as a bunch of looneys, I have only come across 1 such person in my life! I am a Christian myself and I do not think of wars, famine, and the end of days everyday.
I spend my life trying to life a fulfilled life and be a source of blessing to others. Worthwhile movie for those who can believe in the plot. Cheers.
