Review of L'Eclisse (1962) by Bass 9 — 10 Oct 2009
This film is an ensemble of ideals and feelings. It feels like brick on your head because it's so dense that you just can't stop looking at it. A world where a woman wants passion and love, and where a man cares about money, and excess.
Nobody talks about their feelings except Monica Vitti and in the end we feel this despair where you want to be with the one you love but in the end, reality pulls you apart. A world of opulence and disdain, it's hating everything even love.
Visually enchanting, a fascinating score and the silences, oh the silences.
