Review of Leaving Las Vegas (1995) by Anne F — 20 Jan 2009
A disease-free, non-drug addicted prostitute takes a middle aged man under her wing. At least this was a little more realistic than Pretty Woman inasmuch as she had a pimp for 5 minutes. This film's middle aged man was an alcoholic who was set on drinking himself to death (unlike all other alcoholics who are just drinking for their complexion) but who didn't look particularly ill through much of the film.
This is a disneyfied version of alcoholism.
