Review of Leaving Las Vegas (1995) by Bradley H — 04 Jul 2012
Certainly not the only film that attempts to convey the shriveling catastrophe that is a deliberately protracted suicide, but this one may be the one that best captures the desperate horror of the act, including its ultimately impotent grasping at some piece of existence it still too weakly loves.
Unflinchingly dark; hopelessly sad; hell beneath the lights of Las Vegas. Cage and Shue are mesmerizing.
