Review of Leaving Las Vegas (1995) by Matt S — 15 Feb 2011
I have to stop falling asleep in movies. For the mid-90s, this was a key independent film due in large part to the gung-ho performances of Elizabeth Shue and Nicolas Cage. However, under the nostalgia microscope, Figgis' knack for shock value and cheesy/jazzy soundtrack comes through more than the film or performances.
