Review of Leaves of Grass (2009) by Nadia T — 25 Mar 2010
Edward Norton is a somewhat underrated actor who can play a range of characters, but in Leaves of Grass, he pulls of two in the same movie. So far, there are only two actors that believably tackled such parts; those two are Nicolas Cage and now, Edward Norton.
In this movie, you love him and hate him, but you just can't stray away from either character because Edward convincingly makes both twins enjoyable in this dark comedy. It paces itself, but some parts feel too quickened and too wild even in its own right.
It could fall under the category of being a Coen brothers' formula for a great dark comedy, but staggers a bit from its climax to the end. Overall, I wouldn't mind watching it again. Norton is the one that makes this movie work.
