Review of Leaves of Grass (2009) by M P — 25 Mar 2010
Norton is amazing at playing these two different parts. He's acting off himself and sometimes I was amazed that it wasn't two different people. Russell's part is a bit unbelievable. I don't think there are many noodling poets who just teach high school. Oh how amazing he found the perfect person in his home town.
The story is pleasant and predictable, up to a certain point. A few scenes were confusing and seemed to be added just to make fun of southerners. I still think it would be a good reason to see this movie if not only for Norton's great performance. Just don't expect too much else.
