Review of Leave No Trace (2018) by Alan W — 20 Jul 2018
5/5.
First 5 star film of 2018 for me. Here's a film that will leave you questioning how you live, what you really need, and most importantly, what happens when what you need to live is different from someone else you love. I'm happy to say that Sophie saw this with me, which made it even more moving.
What an incredible story about a superb father. And what a phenomenal range of people you encounter in a movie that is all about a man trying to get away from people; all but one. Some of them come off as somewhat ridiculous, but they're all caring, and no one is malicious, except maybe the guy disemboweling the homeless camp with a backhoe. One important thing for me was that this movie was rated PG. That means one can be assured that nothing really awful is going to happen. That's not meant to be a spoiler, but an encouragement.
