Review of Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990) by Matthew S — 13 Jul 2007
A different part of Texas than the first two films. Leatherface is living with a crazy new family. There's a great kitchen scene. They do a lot to set up the creepy Texas country-folk with a sleazy gas station scene.
There's plenty of action. The plot feels a bit incomplete, even with the Un-rated version. The production quality is good, but the story needed to be a bit more personable. I liked that crazy woman who had been hiding in the woods for a week.
That little evil girl with the sharp-toothed doll was awesome. The bitchy Texas mother with the voice box scared me. Some of the crazy Texans had beards this time around. The trailer mis-represented this as the ultimate Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, but it wasn't; that honor still goes to the first.
