Review of Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990) by Sue B — 11 Aug 2011
The best horror sequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this is the sequel you should watch if you like horror movies. The film was cut extensively, so a lot of the gore has been eliminated in the edited version.
However, it is better than the first sequel to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That said, this movie still fails as a worthy sequel because it drops the documentary/gritty feel of the original for something decidedly Hollywood.
The acting is really camp, and some of the characters don't appear to have a purpose. If you like horror movies or camp laugh-fests, you will probably get a kick out of this movie. If you are a fan of the original, it is a kick in the teeth.
it is just a slightly less kick in the teeth than The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II. I am a fan of the original, and I don't consider this a worthy follow-up, but I did enjoy it when I watched it.
