Review of Leatherface (2017) by Sam M — 14 Mar 2018

This movie was disappointing to say the least! There was only around ten minutes of it, towards the very end, where this film finally took a misguided stab at being a TCM prequel. As a seasoned horror fan, I struggled to get through this one.

The plot was all over the place, it was like a rambling rehash of other lame horrors and didn't seem to have any relevance to the 1974 original or the franchise - Other than the inclusion of the Sawyer family it was more like a weird nod to The Devil's Rejects and it had none of the original's appeal.

I'd been pleased to see the names of a few decent actors amongst the cast list but even they couldn't save the bumbling plot twists and unimaginative script. Give it a miss!
