Review of Leap Year (2010) by Lee G — 22 Nov 2010
Is it predictable? Yes but not 100%. This is the kind of movie where you know how the story will end the moment it starts. The fun part is the journey along the way. Plus there's Amy Adams. There's something extra that she brings to her roles that just make stories shine a bit brighter.
Plus the chemistry between Matthew Goode and Adams really ground the story in reality. You can sense the feelings developing between the characters onscreen, and as a result, like it or not, you start to care for them.
That makes the ending all the more poignant, and to be honest, brought a tear to my eye. Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic at heart, but I quite enjoyed this little sweet film.
