Review of Lean On Me (1989) by Ian T — 11 Feb 2013
Lean on Me: Morgan Freeman is on top in the late 60's at East Side High. His students are enthused until a problem forces his transfer out. While he leaves the school crumbles and the state threatens a take over.
20 yrs go by and the chaos forces his old buddy the Superintendent to go hire him as a principal to save the school. All hell breaks loose, people are threatened, futures are at stake, and Freeman had to hold the wound together by stitching a small piece of it at a time.
Great film that shows how the pitfalls of society eats young uneducated kids and spits them out. 5/5 stars. The film is a great teaching strategy for troubled school districts to follow.
