Review of Lean On Me (1989) by Grant H — 11 Dec 2016
Early Morgan Freeman film finds him as a strict disciplinarian who must conquer the worst school in America. Full of montages about learning instead of boxing or karate, the movie has a good performance from Freeman but reeks of 80's sports films.
John G. Avildsen keeps the formula of underdogs winning the same, but this film has its moments.
