Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by Alexander J — 03 Jun 2007
Stylish, sparse, quiet, yet lethal in many ways - that's Melville's samurai to me. Alain Delon shines in his coolest role ever, a part written for him as the lonesome city hyena, never really satisfied with life and always on the hunt for a new thrill.
This is what a modern western could look like.
