Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by Bryan C — 17 Apr 2008
I believe Le Samourai is the first film that got me into French film making and more importantly, Jean-Pierre Melville (who now happens to be my favorite director). If I had to describe this film in one word I'd have to say this film is simply "cool.
" If anyone is into John Woo or Quentin Tarantino than I suggest they should see anything by Melville. He is, after all, the guy who they owe their style to (to an extent). Great film, the directing is breath taking.
