Review of Le Samouraï (1967) by William H — 16 May 2012
I had seen Drive first and the two films are remarkably similar. The same restraint and minimalism characterizes both movies - combined both characters probably say 60 lines as they navigate their worlds as solitary forces for hire, adherents to strict but obscured codes of right, wrong, and obligation.
Really excellent. This movie holds up really well, it just asks you to watch, it'll do the rest.
