Review of Le Révélateur (1968) by Dimitris S — 30 Jan 2010
Silent film without any music, intended to provoke excluding any shocking tensions that would characterize it as...immoral.
A frivolous account of a couple in nausea (the adults were intoxicated with LSD all the time) and a small kid perplexing the distance in accordance to Garrel's hypnotic visuals thanks to Michel Fournier's spectacular camera lighting!
This is not for the drowsy folks, this is pure cinematic form,no words, just vast landscape, stares, actions,a photographic series of self-reflection. Garrel surpassed this 6 years later with Les Hautes Solitudes.
