Review of Le Havre (2011) by Mychal S — 30 Jan 2012
Beautiful, humane, and charming, and more than just a little bit wry. This is a humanist fable wrapped in realist trappings, and there's such a belief and optimism in the goodness of people, it's hard not to be warmed by this movie.
And Kaurismaki shoots in such a clean, classical style that's far too rare these days.
