Review of Le Cercle Rouge (1970) by Pavandeep S — 23 Mar 2009
One of Melville's most thoughtful films, what it lacks in the preision and humanity of his other films, he makes up for the exploration of morality and mankind's attitude of it. Personally, I had a hard time figuring this film out, the events come off as random and sometimes this juxtaposition makes it bizarre if you have seen other Melville films, but after contemplation and more contemplation, you realize how this film fully relates to its opening line, supposedly attributed to Buddha.
