Review of Layer Cake (2004) by Timm S — 30 Dec 2009
It's probably very unfair to draw comparisons with other Brit gangster films like 'Lock, Stock' and 'Snatch' (for example, it isn't nearly as stylised as the two); but this film is in its own right an absorbing and layered story that I found very interesting in spite of its deceptive simplicity.
The action is very quick-paced and there are a lot of back stories to for the audience to juggle. Craig and Gambon are wonderful in this.
