'Layer Cake' is a 2004 British gangster thriller directed by Matthew Vaughn. It is based on the novel Layer Cake by J.J. Connolly. Since star Daniel Craig's rise to fame in Casino Royale, the film has started to amass a cult following. (The title refers to the human social strata, especially in the British crime underworld).

The Movie style, element & theme are what a British good/bad gangster movie should be is witty, the music/sound background is pretty good, with decent gangster tunes & the sound are pretty ace in the film, the director Matthew Vaughn made a stylish British Gangsters Movie that is different a Cult liking of mine (mostly likeable from me), the acting is terrific with great performance & a brilliant (mostly) British cast, which are; Daniel Craig as XXXX (u never know his name until the end, but they never say it in full, while being a simple good gang with a brilliant performance in the movie), Colm Meaney, Kenneth Cranham, George Harris, Jamie Foreman, Sienna Miller, Michael Gambon, Jason Flemyng & the rest of the unknown cast members that were alright in this film and the genre Crime, Drama & Thriller do really well for this film & its type & setting of the film (British gangster).

The Film was a good enough British gangster drug dealers movie, the film dose start out simple with the use of the movie of drug & bad or good gangster, the movie is really smart on the type of storyline/plot of the gangster (either the good or bad style of the film) & is well crafted, it is different an amazing British Cult Movie that really show Daniel Craig talented & that he is a great actor (in most films), the paces in the film has some fast & slow moment which pisses me off, but has great technique on the style of the directs (as it does go close up to the person or goes any at the moment in the film) of an alright/good film, a stylized, electric British crime/thriller, the movie dose have really hot raunchy/kinky sex & kidnap scene in the movie, its violence, alot of cool swearing, full on British action, some good fighting/murdering very twisted & kind of boring film (only in parts of the film), it loyal gang has gone totally wrong, this is a pretty steady good Cult British gangster movie that is very enjoyable to watch and the ending came all together with all the gang in the movie, while showing Daniel Craig character gets out of the drug dealing business & goes with the hot girl (Sienna Miller), while he about to say his name he gets short & die's as it did shock me I thought it was a great ending (a well done Movie).
