Review of Layer Cake (2004) by Tony B — 21 Dec 2010
Had this movie for awhile and finally decided to finish it. It's a cool, slick yet fairly typical British gangster film though as the title suggests, it has several layers of complexity to the plot that makes it interesting enough to get through the mediocre first half and see the film through to the more intense second.
A good first directorial effort for Matthew Vaughn who directed this years "Kick-Ass" which was a really cool and fun watch and will hopefully pull out all stops for the new X-Men movie coming out next summer.
