Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Brian L — 05 Oct 2012
Seeing this movie digitally restored and on the big screen is one if the best decisions I've made all year. This movie is one of the most visually brilliant films I've ever seen. The film is just gorgeous.
Every shot is framed perfectly. The filmmakers know just how to capture the majesty of the desert, and also the isolation. On top of that the film centers around a very well-written character, brilliantly played by Peter O'Toole.
The scope of the film is as epic as possible, and in four hours it rarely drags, if ever. It's one of the most visually stunning, brilliantly scored, and wonderfully written films I've ever seen.
