Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Michael H — 11 Nov 2012
Here we are. The Big One. The Majestic Epic. This is the actual meaning of a epic film. Lawrence Of Arabia is one of the best films I have ever seen. For its 50th Aniversery, 4k has restored the movie and has been rereleased into theatres. It was part of Front Row Events at Cineplex and I decided to experience it for the first time. It was one of the greatest movie experiences I have ever had. Our movie begins with the death of Poet and Major T.E Lawrence. The movie takes place in flashback in WWI when Lawrence is sent from Cario to Arabia to aid Prince Feisal and his men to battle with the turks. He becomes a leader and it starts tearing him apart. The movie is about the self destruction of Lawrence. His emotions are shaky and fragile and does not want to be apart of the violence. But violence starts taking over him and begins to fall apart. Omar Shariff plays a excellent Sheriff Ali who helps Lawrence on his journey. But its Peter O' Toole who is the main show stopper. His portrayal of Lawrence is powerful in his first major role. The music, one of the best original scores ever. Majestic Cinematography, Great Editing and Amazing Acting. Lawrence Of Arabia is the greatest epic of all time.
100/100 A+.
