Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Daniel I — 17 Nov 2012
"Big things have small beginnings," says the flamboyant title character, as made famous by Peter O'Toole. Such words are very true when describing this 4-hour Hollywood marvel, which boasts some of the best photography ever captured, and some of the best acting ever exhibited.
In fact, the film's desert vistas have proved very influential in the creation of Tatooine for 1977's "Star Wars," both of which featured the late Alec Guinness in top form. Overall, "Lawrence" is a watermark for the epic film genre.
