Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Niek S — 02 May 2013
I'm very much impressed by Lean's literally awesome epic. Everything works. Magnificent camerawork - some of the best I've ever seen - in a perfectly paced film with a great score. Spectacular art direction.
It shows - but not fully explains - the complex personality of T.E. Lawrence, impressively portrayed by O'Toole. I literally could not find a fault in this film. Also, any film starts out with a 3,5 minute overture and a black screen deserves praise for boldness.
