The Mirage sequence in David Lean's "Lawrence of Arabia" is still the greatest movie miracle I've ever seen in a motion picture. How it was done..? I don't have a clue. May be, nobody has.
Peter O'toole's Lawrence snailing along on top of an emaciated camel in a marooned (yet clean) desert is photographed with utmost care and seductive style..!!! Watch this film and you'll realize how tough and magical movie making really is.
