Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Alailson B — 22 Oct 2013
Not as great as I expected, but damn - what a great looking film. It's the best film in terms of picture quality I have watched that wasn't made within the last ten years I'd say.
I think I was enjoying this war epic almost too much (for its content) up until the intermission. That's where things starting going down hill for T.E. Lawrence and that's when he became a little more interesting as an on screen character, but personally I lost interest in that latter half - I did watch the restored version though, which was 13 minutes shy of being 4 hours long so that might have been another reason. Technically speaking this is obviously a one of a kind film I'll return to some years down the road.
