Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Steve G — 03 Jun 2015
TERRIBLE!! Ugh. The most tedious movie ever made. Paint drying is a roller coaster ride, in comparison. 3 hours of BORING! And I find the character wholly unsympathetic. Only some of the acting & the train sequence are even remotely redeemable, as well as the score.
But the story & plot give me no reason at all to be interested. I had to force myself. I even watched it a second time to make sure I didn't miss something that everyone else was seeing. It was even worse than the first time.
Unless you're an Arab who lived in the '20s, I can't possibly see any emotional investment that the story could give to you. This is one of the very few movies where I think the rest of the world must be completely insane to like it.
Can you imagine anything more boring than a movie where probably over half of consists of riding camels in a desert?
