Review of Lawrence of Arabia (1962) by Alan W — 15 Aug 2016
Courtesy of a new prestine remastered print, the cinematography and colours pop and every lingering moment in the desert and every entrance made in the first half of the film is simply awe-inspiring and most impressive.
The story is a little confusing at first - but it is really a simple one and one that carries extra poignancy these days. And while O'Toole seems to be channeling Julian Clary at times, his raw performance which hinted at the real life sexuality of his character might be intentional.
Overall, the definition of a classic and the old saying: they dont make it like they used to anymore.
