Review of Lawn Dogs (1997) by Sean G — 10 Jul 2011
Wow! This was listed under, "Comedy", which it surely isn't. I'd first heard of Mischa Barton when she turned 19, I think, and her then singer boyfriend sang her a song at a bar, so it made the "news".
I did not know who she was then. Not long ago was the first time I'd seen her act, as a teenager in, 'Tart', prior to watching, 'Lawn Dogs'. She's incredible here! Was she only ten? I did not know Sam Rockwell at all; just his name.
He was also outstanding. It seems the plot is two "freaks" from different socio-economic backgrounds can only be friends secretly. Society scorns them, even when the socialites are screwed up too.
Very powerful performances.
