3: Solid performances and a setting that is somewhat atypical (i.e. a rural working class area in middle/southern US). Seems very familiar due largely to Boardwalk Empire, but this doesn't make it any less effective.
The fact that is largely based on real-life events gives it that extra edge as well of course.
