Review of Lawless (2012) by Jonathan C — 22 Feb 2013
The story was a bit slow in the middle, but it was okay. When it comes to acting, Shia LeBeouf's perfromance was not bad at all. Tom Hardy is promising. Chastain is particulary strong as a resourceful Maggie.
Guy Pearce, whether the director wanted it or not, was way cartoonish and over the top for a lack of reasons; Gary Oldman was wasted in the middle of the film, I find. At the end, Lawless does have its flaws but it is also entertaining and a okay film for me.
