Review of Lawless (2012) by Lewis E — 09 Apr 2013
Strong southern voices and Tom Hardy's persistent mumbling means your finger may be on the subtitles button more than usual but it is worth it to see one of the top films to come out of 2012. Solid rendition of a true story about three brothers involved in the alcohol bootlegging business during the prohibition era.
Every member of the cast hold their own but Guy Pearce is the most distinctive as the special deputy hell-bent on bringing chaos to the Bondurant brothers' operations. Gripping stuff.
