Review of Lawless (2012) by Jared C — 14 Apr 2013

As far as a gangster film goes this is very violent and in a way old fashioned. This looks slightly along the lines of films like Road to Perdition and so on. Some of the actors are really good especially Guy Pearce who does a really nasty and horrible portrayal of his character, while Shia LeBeouf tries to step up to the plate (but his weak emphasis on the characters he picks is terrible).

Tom Hardy and Jessica Chastain are good, their chemistry however is a bit wavered, and you wouldn't imagine the two of them as a couple. The film runs along slow at times, but gets better.
