Review of Lawless (2012) by Forrest M — 12 Jul 2013
Wow. Just wow. This is a near perfect film for me. There is literally too much for me to rave about. It never strayed from feeling like a time piece, perfect cast, splendid editing and cinematography, has an awesome yet fitting soundtrack, great story, and some of the best performances I've seen all year.
I could talk for ages about this film, but I won't. I'll just tell you to watch it and and everything else that John Hillcoat and Nick Cave collaborate on. It is one of my favorite works of film I've seen.
(Don't worry, Shia doesn't try to be a badass throghout. He's the kicking boy.).
