Review of Lawless (2012) by William M — 30 Nov 2014
Lawless is the movie produced by Nick Cave and came out in 2012. This movie is based on a true story. At first, Matt Bondurant published the original story of this movie as a book in October 14, 2014. He wrote this story about his grandfather and granduncle who made alcohols illegally during the prohibition era. This movie was nominated at Cannes Film Festival. When I watched this movie for the first time, I was amazed by every scene and story. I think we can enjoy this movie both as an entertainment and as a historical movie.
Background musics help this movie to be great. " Fire In The Blood" is one of those songs and this song was nominated for the honorable prize which was the Best Original Song by Georgia Film Critics Association. Some of you might say this kind of movie is boring. But it is not. This movie contains human dramas, actions, and romances, all of those parts of the story are not messed up. The story is read by the youngest brother in the movie, so you can see the prohibition era through the eyes of a youth.
Because the story is well organized and contains surprises, you cannot wait what happens next once you start watching this movie.
In this movie, the main character is the youngest brother. He and his brother made alcohols and sold them to earn livings. But the youngest brother was not as brave as his brothers. So he found his own way to success. The evil special aid tried to catch them by using dastardly ways. But this brothers were against for and made changes in that moment.
I think we can enjoy this movie both as an entertainment and as a historical movie. The ending of this movie is adorable so you will not regret watching it.
