I can see how this movie is controversial and provocative. I was rooting for Gerard Butler's performance as a family man who was wronged by the system basically because of Jamie Foxx's character who cares more about his personal gain than serving justice.

This is a cautionary tale of how one man's dishonest actions can later lead to consequences that follow. This is also about putting aside one's pride to actually doing the right thing. Moreover, it's a dark tale that shows what happens when the system fails and how it, as well as the people who blindly believe in that system, should be held accountable for its actions.
