Review of L'Avventura (1960) by Michael H — 25 Sep 2007
I have a lot of admiration for this film and Antonioni, but it didn't stir me in any powerful way. However, the cinematography is utterly beautiful, and Monica Vitti's performance is luminious (with a few scenes where it feels as if a human being is desperately trying to break through the screen.
..awesome!) I do however remain dubious as to the whole "new cinematic grammar" notion that critics have bestowed upon this movie...all the same, I admit that I can't get this movie out of my head.
