Review of L'Avventura (1960) by Miakoda G — 21 Jun 2009
I'm sure this was quite revolutionary in 1960, considering the styles of filmmaking that had come before. But now it's only tiresome to watch. The shots were far too long and the plot far too thin.
How long did Antonini think we needed to see the characters walking around that huge rock shouting for their friend before we and they realized she was gone? That took up at least 10 minutes of screen time.
Dreadfully boring, albeit visually impressive.
